Game mode idea
I know this might be hard to implement but still, people ocme with various ideas so why not share mine? Here it is:
Every time a day passes in-game ALL players get a random country and play with it until the next day change. This repeats until someone wins the game.
Features:
-Victory points are assigned to players instead of countries
*Points a country has doesn't matter and winner is chosen depending on player's points.
-No country selection at start
*It fits the theme.
-100 player map
*More fun and less repetition.
-No AI
*Playing a day on this mode with or against an AI country can lessen the fun of the mode.
-No coalitions
*Coalitions are more likely to be unfair in this mode.
-Diplomacy messages, espinoges and trades are sent to countries
*When player's country changes, old messages/trades/espinoge reports are replaced with new country's.
-Diplomatic relations are allowed
*All relations are allowed as constantly being surrounded with countries you can't ally with can be boring/exhausting BUT if this is too much for the devs then only "peace" and "war" can be kept.
But imo that would be pretty bad, imagine if you could just get right of way from a strong country to pass their one province and attack a weak one to gain points in 24 hours but instead your "right of way" and "share map" are disabled and you have to either attack a stronger country with no expectation of getting land or transport from water which will last longer than a day or do nothing that ingame day.
-Inactivity counts are disabled
*One or two day criteria is too long for a country as they get a new player every day. This can be implemented if countries get labelled as inactive in like half an ingame day BUT this could be too strict and overall useless if we count in the timezone differences like, when will the country be labelled as active if player comes in after an hour after being labelled inactive, when a short time is left for day change?
-Players cannot carry anything to other countries including victory points
*If player 1 sends troops to conquer a province while playing with UK and succeeds the province will stay UK's after player 1 moves to, let's say, Germany. Victory points of that province will stay as UK's but country victory points don't matter in this mode so don't worry.
-Current player of a country that gains/loses victory points will gain/lose victory points
*Continuing from the example above if player 1 sent troops to said province at day 2 and the troops conquered it in day 2, points are gained by player 1. However if player 1 sends troops at day 2 and troops conquer the province at day 3, player 2 (who is now the one playing with UK) will get the victory points. Same applies to losses.
-Production times are either not touched or sped up/decreased ONLY A LITTLE BIT
*Basically my idea is players look at what they can get in 24 hours with what they have at hand, what the previous player left them with.
If times are sped up a bit then players will still mostly play with what they got left from the previous player but they can add a unit or two to their troops at least and have a bit of a more control over their troops which is fine imo.
Like, imagine if you ALMOST got a land with the troops at your hand but you need one more infantry to capture it so you make a one unit addition and get your points.
-Game is either at 1.0 version or at 1.5 moving time of the troops and production times are decreased
*Since 1.5 only allows players to build on urban provinces playing the game at 1.5 with no decrease on production/moving times could make the game too slow.
Anyways yeah might be too much of effort and thought put into such a game mode bit it would actually be fun imo. What do you all think?
