FORUM GANG Second Lieutenant
CALL OF WAR TECHNICIAN THIRD GRADE
It happens frequently that the same game (same game ID) appears twice in the "New Games" tab.
I believe there's an intention in this - probably a feature, not a bug? Is a highly irritative one, then.
Can't imagine any benefit from it that makes up for the chaos it creates in your head when you try to figure out which game you might want to join.

Can you please bring back the ALL-IN event ?
Can you please make a new thread for that?Jchicas the Great wrote:

Right now I can't, because usually the two displays of the same game are too far away from each other to fit on one screen. But if you now open the "New Games" list on the English server, you can see the "World at war" 100p map with game ID #3126414 twice in it and the "1939 historic world war" 25p map with game ID #3126597 also twice in it (also if not being drunk).Killer8282 wrote:

Its a bug in the scrolling behaviour. I supposed this might be the reason: When the list loads more entries and another round was created above it since you opened the list, it pushes all older list entries down. That means that one entry will spill over into the next chunk of games the list will load up. You wont see the new game that was added above it as your list wont refresh autmatically, thats why you then see the game twice in your list.
Doesnt have the highest prio to be fixed.
OKay.
Totally agree that fixing this has very low priority. At least compared to fixing the bug that sometimes several scenario maps of same type are created at approximately the same time (for example today 8 times 100p world map on English server). That's a very bad one - would even give it higher prio than to any features / changes. If the root cause cannot be found, I'd search very hard for a workaround... like an additional
if(game of same scenario with less than 50% of its maximal players exists) {
don't start new game;
}
... or something alike.
as far as I know, the fix that you suggested is actually in place, but it still hiccups occasionally.Hans A. Pils wrote:

In my experience, it's not seldom. I estimate it happens about every second week (certainly not in regular intervals though), usually with the 100player World Map.VorlonFCW wrote:

I think it's bad, because these rounds hardly fill up, especially in the smaller communities. On the English server it may not be a big problem, but on the others it is. If it was fixed (reliably) we could have a way bigger variety of different scenarios without decreased rate of maps filling up. I even estimate this bug has a bigger negative impact on the rate of rounds filling up than the scenario rotation had a positive impact (not to be mixed up with disallowing map creation without HC - that change had a huge positive impact on rounds filling up and was simply a very good one).
Yeah we know about that bug, its rather high up in our backlog, but also pretty complicated to fix. Basically requires a re-writing of the game creation code. Hopefully it can be done soon.
