Would love to have a format that allows the game creator to configure the amount of gold that can be spent per game. Any map hopefully but certainly World at War and other maps that are used for 5v5, 6v6 etc. Happy to spend gold to create such a game, and then be able to configure the amount of gold players can spend in the game before it stops additional spending. (same configuration for all players is fine, no need for each player since that would be too complicated). So then a player could create a game where, for example, everyone can spend 5000 gold during the course of the game but no more. Apologies if there is already a thread or suggestion around this.

There have been posts and discussions about limited gold usage in certain games but it hasn't, and probably will not, be implemented.
The best you can do for a completely gold free game is to join up with a group of players who you know won't use gold and start a private match.
Or if you wanted to do Alliance vs. Alliance match that could work too. Most AvA matches are gold free.

Agreed - Gold use rules would be great, and I do not think that detrimental to the profit system. In fact, limiting its use in some games may make it more enjoyable for noobies and others - which in tern may just convince them to play more, and in the long run, buy gold thus increase profits.
I have asked about being able to give gold - PURCHASED ONLY - and would do so. However either the programming is too hard - or myopia has led to this being shrugged off as a target for gold farms......
If someone clearly golds me or a team Im on in a game, I plan on retaliating, so... more money.
Yes this is a gentle criticism, however overall in the 95th percentile - I really like the game and appreciate all the hard work put into it.
I would hate to do the math on a Per Hour worked basis, It has to be a labor of love as much as a profit motive.
On that note - Kudos and Thanks for a great game.

This has been proposed often but it will not happen.
