Ever since i first played call of war I noticed that a lot of new players ask all the time on global chat with stuff like ''why did you attack me italy?'', ''want to be allies france?'' or ''who's -insert country?-''. My idea well TCKartalMapper and i had an idea for a year now we think it be a good idea to put a auto message with along the lines of ''check diplomacy'' or ''this isn't ingame chat'' to make things more clear to the new players that global chat has other games happening at the same time as them. I think we should have an auto message for the new players this way they won't be confused.

Pretty good idea! I do agree it can get frustrating when new players can't understand the fact that the players they are playing against 1. Probably not using the chat at this moment 2. Most don't hardly use the chat 3. Are not playing the exact moment they are. 4. The Opposition AKA The newbies Opponent probably only uses Diplomacy for in-game communication, very rarely do they use the news paper for a back and forth conversation... So,let us hope that Maybe one of the Staff take a peek at this thread.

I'm aware that there are players who are annoyed at the new players for confusing global chat thinking it's ingame chat but hey i don't expect every new player to know this by heart i do expect a few new players will be lost but not as much in the future hopefully

True, Can't expect a new player to know how to successfully navigate through this game, To be fair it isn't like most games, It is a little more complicated and involves more advanced thinking!

They will get used to it like the other players (obviously there will be some stuff they'll always wonder)

When a newbie, I was one of those guys that used global chat. But in the last umpteen games, I have used exclusively diplomacy tab for in-game communication- like most other experienced players ...

I mostly hang out on Help and Frontline, but I do see stuff like that on Help almost every day. I think this is a good idea, but it would be hard to implement, since there are a lot of different phrases that someone can use to ask to be allies, or talk to people in their game, and a filter that gives an auto message wouldn't be able to recognize all of them. At the top of the Frontline chat, there is a short message that says to only chat in English, and gives links to descriptions of the Frontline Pioneers. Maybe there could be something similar in the other chats, except these would have messages that say "This Global chat connects all members of the English Server, meaning most are likely not in your game."

I did say in my original post that the auto message be along those lines (i never said exactly what the multiples messages are but to just something simple that can be said in call of war chat).

Yes, but I was trying to make a different point in my previous point. Let's say that the system recognizes "Want to be allies France?" as one of the messages to send the auto message to. But someone could say "Want to be allies, France?" Since there is a comma in it, the system wouldn't recognize it. In addition to the commas, there are multiple ways to ask for allies. One could say, "Would you like to be allies France?", or "Would you like to join my coalition France?" My point in the previous post was that, since it is incredibly hard to predict every message that new players could send, a single message could exist at the top, where the "Welcome to the Global channel" is right now.

True it can't predict every line a new player would say

DoctorDR1, as the leader of the galactic empire I see your offer to another country to join your coalition more along the lines of, join or die ... or something similar. Galactic leaders aren't known for their diplomacy after all.

Well yes, I have actually thought of that... Maybe they can find a way that to fix that one... There are some ways it could be done, maybe even a verification message that actually makes new people read it before they can use the chat... So they can actually know that this is a global chat, and not only in-game chat... But I still think the automatic message can work in some way... And y'know, doubt if they will read the part they will add in "Welcome to global chat", when they open the chat for the first time, it shows the latest messages first so they will probably not have a chance to scroll up and read it

Am I bad, cuz I just start making plans with them and get them to start WarDecking countries in my direction so we can "meet in the middle"... then once they've started a couple wars and realize I'm nowhere to be found on their map... my work is done.
