Gold use

This is not a complaint. Gold is part of the game. I used to buy gold myself before so...no complaint.

My first 10 games I did not use gold at all. I won 9 of them through skill and good use of tactics and strategy.

My next 10 games started with the big world war 100 player map and so many players were using gold I felt swamped. So I started buying just to keep up. 10 games later I stopped and have not bought gold since.

I realized that gold stops people from developing the skill to win, relying on gold for the victory. Now almost every game I join has at least one gold player and it's very difficult even for a good player to beat a gold user.

Just a fact. Bytro needs to make money after all. But if you really want to be know as a General to be feared, don't use it. The wins are much more satisfying.

Not wrong. Battling against adversity always makes winning more fun. And losing more spectacular, which can also be fun.

I do use gold, but sparingly, and I don't buy it; if I run out I rely on achievements to get me more.

I only use the gold I get from coalition victories, twice it happened. And yes I agree,if a player must use gold to win a map then he/she is no good player at all,the only skill he/she has is to spend real money and click the mouse

I recommend setting a maximum gold use per day or per entire game based on each map. Then players can use gold progressively and prevent massive gold abuse.

The gold limit can be used in premium games so that people have to pay gold to access those games. But considering how many gold abusers are out there, I am sure people are willing to pay gold to avoid playing with those abusers.

A limit for gold use per day/map won't work because then the gold users won't want to play the game and Bytro won't make a profit, please don't get me wrong I'm not saying this is a pay to win game, it's not, many non gold users have won the game but to offer gold for certain aspects of the game and then to limit it won't work for the game developers.Players that has premium already paid for it why would they pay gold again for premium games and be limited on it...and I won't waste my gold to pay a game to not play with gold abusers

You do you, I sure as hell would!

I find that the gold abusers mostly play the bigger maps.

I mostly play the CoN maps and rarely does a gold abuser show up...but when one does...they win hands down. No one can beat them.

Me and @TheZhukov would disagree with such a statement, my friend.

I usually find mass golders on maps like W@W, Homefront, and Antarctica. Why? Because those maps offer the best opportunities to increase your K/D, because those maps tend to have the most units on the map per game.

I just played my first game....and my last. Ran into a gold abuser. He was running multiple 14 unit orbiting (patrolling) tactical bomber wings on his borders. I figured out a counter and would make it to his captial only to see his last army refill all their HP before I could get there. Now I'm playing out of spite.

Serious questions:

  1. What do you get out of playing this way? Your time (and maybe money) investment is big but to what end? Is there money being made by the players? I just really don't get the mindset. Show me a top score on a pacman game and I'll be impressed, get top here is no accomplishment.
  2. Where are there developers in balancing game play? You've basically allowed spectre gunships to evolve. Your job is to make an era realistic experience, this isn't it
Thanks but I'll play my PG clones against the AI. Turn by turn email game anybody? Happy to play on a level field.

My solution is tier the games.

0-10,000 gold in your account you can play together (of course you can buy more in game, but then you are spending $ and not just spending gold you earned previously )

500,000+ you play other 500,000+ players

Honestly, that’s not the worst idea I’ve ever heard in terms of gold use. Of course, it won’t ever be implemented….
Have a blessed day <3

Digital ponzi scheme, nobody new will want to get in and pay you a bit money. Just a slow death as the old guard make being a noob miserable and slowly drift from the game themselves.

Eh I’d call it more like any old players keep drown in the wave of golders who come and go, but that’s if it’s happens. With the rising price of gold and the difficulty of the game Golding gets a lot harder..

I have 1 million gold, you're saying I can only play against people with that amount? That's absurd, those games would never fill. And your approach makes no sense, amusingly, because many (most?) of the people with that much gold in their account have it because they don't gold.

Sorry you ran into a blatant golder. They're pretty uncommon, I've run into one extreme golder in 50 games. Fight back if you like the challenge, dump your own gold on them if you've been saving up, or just archive and move on to the next game

If you assume the need for 50 players, then it doesn't make sense. What's wrong with 3 or 5 players instead of 50? I see no problem with that.

Personally, I'm not going to participate under the current rules.

Maybe run it like a poker tournament, buy-in for gold, house takes a cut, winner get remainder. But in the game everybody is equal.

There aren't any 3-5 player maps lol

You really need to open your mind. There aren't level playing field rules either. The whole discussion is hypothecthical changes. I'm sure it would take a lot of effort to make such a map.

There are maps you can play that don’t allow gold use. You have to go very out of your way to find them. Bytro does allow some sanctioned gold/card free maps. I’m playing in one now as part of the Alliance World Cup. Warning they bring out very good players.
