I notice there are some grid markings around the outside of the game boarder. It would be nice if you could see grid coordinates to call out things to your allies. Even if its as simple as a chessboard alphanumeric X and numeric Y axis or something. Perhaps when you click on the map something would show the grid mark that you clicked. This could make life easier.
A grid of sorts is shown on some maps on water, but unlabeled, no units, therefore just for show, no military utility.
Grid coordinates, map scales and mensuration tools have been requested many times to no avail. Perhaps such realistic military planning tools would make CoW too much like a war game?
