A grid with sectors, like on a map? E.g. A1 is the top left hand corner of the map.
GRID
Please add a GRID as a view option to toggle on/off. I cant believe this is not already available.
thanks

Correct. Just like a map
Tired of scouring the map looking for a country/city of interest. In the real world a grid location or GPS would have been given.
You can just search with CTRL + f you know.Netzonecal wrote:

Well....grrrr. I did not know about that. But , Still I want the grid...lol. sticking to my guns.
Lol, well, now you know. I still support this idea anyways, seems quite nice.
When trying to to find a naval unit or informing a teem member about naval actions. a Grid system would be helpful. Should already be part of the game.
Quasi-duck, Thanks for the support.
Yeah, totally.Netzonecal wrote:

I support this idea, but only because Pablo made an excellent point with the naval units.
you are a balls
Pablo?
LoL. Thanks for the support but....... Pablo?
Lol, yeah, I think he got the pictures mixed up xD
The game isn't built on grids.. The game is built with lanes between points. There is no grid system to be shown.
My question would be.. What are grids going to help you with? Instead of asking an ally to help blockade France's North shore, you want to ask him to send subs to C-28?

Basically, yeah. That is what I was thinking anyway. It will also be easier to find, say, Kazakhstan. I know I can't find it on the map and in the bigger maps, there is a long list of countries to go through.WiseOdin wrote:

Also, If your a coalition or "friend" with.
you can select their units and "Suggest" they move to a position.
Hi Wise Odin
The game should be based on Grid. or at least have a toggle on/off option for it. But show me a map anywhere without a grid. you need a grid . For example, i buy a watch. I need a wrist for it. We need a grid. (Not the best analogy. Best i could do. lol)
I see no point in adding grid nor I have seen any similar game to have it. For example, EU4, CK2 and other games of the same company, which are almost the synonym for grand strategy games (CoW is similar to that type of games, just simpler and multiplayer oriented) don't have the grid. Makes no sense that someone would rather say "Move your units to sector B5" instead of "Move your units to London.".
While it maybe wouldn't be too hard to implement it, I think there are many more important stuff to be done, even if we talk about GUI and map navigation only. For example, more keyboard commands like "C" (center the view to capital). Idea is to be able to add few different provinces to favourites list and use keys like "V", "B", "N" (they are next to "C" in most keyboards, if someone questioned the reasoning
) and use them to center to those provinces. That way, moving around could be quicker, especially for big map. Other idea (which would eliminate the need for the implementation of the first idea, but is probably more complicated) would be minimap. I think it is self-explanatory, you have minimap like in most strategy games, and you can click on it in order to move the map around quickly.
Say what you may. But when im looking at the map and i want to communicate to a co-player about enemy activity or anything i would like to use grid location instead of trying to remember some F$%6'd up name. For example, there is a flotilla off the coast of (now, i need to go back to the game and try to commit the name to memory it would help if you could copy paste a city name instead of having to try and commit the spelling to memory) Farafangana.
So much easier if i could just say a1b9. And in the real world, I would be giving grid locations.
In the real world, you aren't locked onto a path. With a path and point system, the points are what you go after. the points are all cities. If the devs add a grid system, you aren't going to learn your geography while you play CoW.
