Gold use is money to Bytro and will NEVER go away.

So how can Bytro better incorporate gold use into the game(s) and placate a substantial portion of its users?

By limiting the amount of gold that can be spent based on the size of the map.

For the sake of argument/suggestion I will say $100,000 gold limit on a 100-map. I am not sure what the avg gold spend is on a map so I am shooting in the blind here.

What is the main cause of good players dropping from a map? They get outspent by a massive golder. But what if it was limited? Then many more players would stay on and spend gold to 'counter' the other spender - up and until the limit.

If players drop and don't spend/buy gold Bytro is losing out because they only get the money from the one who 'bought' a game. Now with limits, Bytro has the possibility of adding several other golders to these games and because of limits some who don't have as much gold to use can still hang in there or pull out the CC and buy a little more.

I would think that some games could be added that tested limited gold use and see if it works. You would need a counter to show how you have spent in each game so you could strategize on where best to spend your remaining gold. A nice message can come up when your gold vault has been emptied for that game.

I would think that many would start using gold on day 1 to get a 'head start' on others and frankly may lead to more people using gold with a ceiling in place. If you make the ceiling too high then it is a mute point...

Game the game!

A plan so crazy, it just might work...

OK

There are people working at Bytro HQ which do nothing else, 40h a week, than figuring out how to maximize income. Analyzing data, running alternate scenario's, writing reports on player psychology, what not. People actually have university degrees in this, you know. Unlimited gold use is their answer. So with all due respect, you sitting in your attic and thinking for half an hour, OK, lets say a FULL hour, and coming up with a suggestion like this will not convince them to change their policy.
