Have not been able to play a new game

Every time I try to start a game on the new 25 or 50 player map, I get a message saying these maps are limited and I need to join an existing game. However, when I look at existing games, most are protected by a password, gold games or way into the game. Either limit the password protected games or open it up so I can start a new game myself. It has been over a month since I have been able to play. I like these maps and those I are the ones I want to play on but I can't.
