I completely agree with this suggestion. 100%. 10/10. 1.0.
Help us identify Gold Usage
I propose a simple way to inform users when Gold is being used. These could be available as a set option when creating the game (100-players maps do not qualify)
(crude) examples:
Golded Units:
Golded Buildings:

why ? so we can have more gold bashing?
No, because I can. I think it's unnecessary, I was being sarcastic. It really doesn't matter where the troops come from, you still have to fight them.wildL SPQR wrote:

Ive been enlightened by a vision that came to me through a dream... How about we get little attachable scanners that detects gold usage? The moment someone uses gold, it triggers an alarm and we are notified by a series of beeps and our computer monitor flashes! Good idea right?
Maybe a collar around our necks that detonates if we spend more than 5k gold at a time!
Yeah! That could be very useful! right bob? *boom* Hello?wildL SPQR wrote:

We don't want to blow their heads off cause we want to be able to torture them longer. I would say a voltage charge proportional to the gold spent.wildL SPQR wrote:

20000 gold! Billy?? Why are you twitching and foaming in the mouth like that??
Just reading that reminded me of this:Sir McSquiggles wrote:

It seemed like such a waste to destroy an entire battle station just to eliminate one man. But Charlie knew that it was the only way to ensure the absolute and total destruction of Quasi-duck, once and for all.The saying, "beating them into submission until payday", is just golden...pun intended.

People will start bashing gold if they use gold ?They are already doing that , aint that hard to spot a gold spammer . I'd love to see , some fancy colored names , on ppl who buy gold , they feel important cuz they get that fancy name , and i am gonna be aware, that i might get attacked in day 4 by 100 tanks, so its a win win
On the other hand , i think bytro shoud promote less GOld buyng , and promote more that hight command, add skins that can be bought with money, add funtions that u can create ur custom country with real money , stuff that wont affect others game experience , but make us all hapier using it . there are tons of ideas that can be exploited , yet bytro got stucked on gold promoting , that might work on short term , but on the long term , ppl will get pissed off eventualy and quit
I kinda agree. It's HC that has to be promoted, not gold.
Well, they want you to buy everything. Gyms want you to pay for a membership, buy water and shakes there, and pay premium for the tanning beds. Bytro wants you to pay for anything you will pay for. When you make a player spend $100 just to win a map, you're doing a lot to help support the serversFunske wrote:

free to play model games are more succesful then pay to win models , lol is an example , players are happy , they put tons of money on that skins , win win .WiseOdin wrote:

If the comunity is happy , they are gonna be more likely to spend cash , cow comunity isnt , ppl hate those gold spammers
Im a pretty happy fellow.
more cats!!
I agree more with your second part. The whole Gold thing has its purpose. But promoting other things would make more sense to me than making it pay to play from the perspective of new users. As a more experienced player, I don't need Gold to dominate a match. But new players sometimes thing I'm using Gold when I don't. Such is the nature of mixing experienced players with non-experienced players.Funske wrote:

Promoting High Command actually helps the users that have it because they are less likely to suffer from down-time issues. So that is an advantage when you can keep your factories working even though you can't be there to babysit them. Perhaps Bytro needs some new ideas for in-game revenue sources. The community is clearly the smart choice to come up with new ideas. I for one would like to see more options that would require purchasing, yet don't affect the game play of others.
Here's a small idea that might work: you can change your nation's landscape appearance at any time with skins (bytro provides the skins) (similar perhaps to what @Funske was suggesting) for a certain amount of Gold to make your land stick out amongst the competition. Or, maybe you can spend a little Gold to make all Infantry "pop" off the screen by looking like 3D rendered giants (maybe they are three times as tall and lean into the glass, sort of). Maybe also one could pay Gold to have random unit animations in your game (like a Militia starts dancing once in a while, or a tank does a spin, or an airplane does a loop-to-loop).
There are lots of little possibilities with Gold purchases that Bytro has ignored. Please, people, come up with more of these little ideas!
Oh yeah, back onto my other topic. Perhaps there could be a player level listing on each match that would help new users avoid the serious competition. So, if a match currently has an average player level of 38, then no one less than a level 20 should be allowed to join...and no one over level 56, also. And some matches could be labeled as "beginners only" or "advanced players only" and not allow over 20 or under 40, etc.
