I would like it, as a member of high command, to be able to queue my next subject of research in the same manner that I am able to plan unit and buildings builds.
I was about to suggest this as well.
I make a heavy use of the building queue. Doing such is efficient for building, but it leaves you with little, if any, resources on hand. Certainly not enough resources to research an advanced technology. Setting technological research in the queue helps ensure that our nations can advance smoothly, and that this no longer conflicts with the building queue.
