High Level Tournaments and Spectating

A new game type, which is reserved for the best players, i.e., LVL 150, or something like that... This maybe a classic game as we play sometimes in chess. A spectator option should also be added so that we can see what's actually happening. We can be given a special defined area to see and which is invisible to the players... So there is no cheating. This will be a fun event for both, the players and the spectators.

i know a certain lvl 100 something getting rekt by 2 noobs, and certain someone with 100 wins losing to a guy with less than 17 games

It should work like a bracket system. Anyone who has a higher rank than 20 can participate in the initial round if they sign up. Players will be eliminated if they lose one game. The initial round takes place on multiple 100 player world at war maps. Only one victor will progress to the next round for each game. Elimination continues until there are 100 players left in the tournament. The 100 players will not be able to form coalitions. They will have to fight it out among themselves. The final victor will win the entire tournament. The 100 final participants would get 100k gold and 5 months of high command. The final victor will get 600k gold and get high command for two years. Everyone will be able to spectate all rounds of the competition.

The reason why this can never work is that anyone can create an account, join as a "spectator", and use that account as a free 24/7 real time spy report.

Only players should be able to see the map.

Unless there's a 24 hour delay between what the players see and what the spectators see. And even then, is it valuable to see what your enemies were building and where their troops were going 24 hours ago? Heck yeah!

So, no. It's not happening.

I agree with zoomzoom, players will only see map, not units or building, not diploma chat or newspaper, just the map.

Well it might also be a full-intel game for players as well? Chess is a very interesting game and there's no fog of war in it either...

why not a trial round before this to see if it'll work in any mode before a PL like this?

As many pointed out, there will be cheaters and people who exploit the spectator mode. Also what would happen if people just do not fight each other in the final or the other games? Would share map and right of way be allowed?

I think if the participants go inactive they should not get the rewards. Those rewards are far too high to be reasonably implemented, maybe 100k gold and a few months of high command would work with the winner but not with everyone.

It would be a cool tournament if this gets implemented though, maybe for a special anniversary...

I'd much prefer it if it was based off win # as opposed to level. I've seen people at high levels like 150 with no wins and also seen those high level people make noob mistakes and get recked in their first game
