Horse, Or no Horse?

After being forwarded by one of the administrators of the game to come into the forum I decided I would drop by and throw an idea, My personal thought is that we put horse-drawn infantry before motorized infantry as not only a buffer between quick and strong and expensive motorized infantry but as an easier Unit to produce and yet they are worse infantry. Horsedrawn infantry start as the first “speed” infantry that is able to be researched up to level 2 until you are able to research motorized along with this would be intriguing to have motorized artillery as another availability rather than SP-Artillery this is just a much faster un-armored artillery that can be more effective at higher levels, My first post

I mean who wouldn’t wanna use only horse infantry as Mongolia right?, It’s always fun to be the hun

you mean like real cavalry? :D

seems a bit out of touch with a WW2 era, where mgs would mow down all that cav before it could do something^^

So you’re telling me that there was no Red Calvary of the Soviet army or even horse drawn German infantry?

I don’t mean like regular cavalry really I just mean infantry that are supported by cavalry such as carriages for ammunition, Etc.

true, but isnt that sorta implied with their low movement speed? i dont think there needs to be an extra unit for that tbh

I suppose it is more of a WWI thing but there are Cavalry in WWII but I suppose they are already mixed in basic infantry units.

polish cavalry had mgs and anti tank rifles and the germans would make a run for it when they came charging

As mentioned above cavalry is already mixed in with the foot units. The low-level infantry move their supplies mainly by horse. This is why the 'special' infantry (at, aa, arties) all recieve a movement boost when they level up.

This is also historically accurate. In operation Barbarossa the German forces had more horses then cars yet there was never a German 'cavalry' unit. There is a good book series about this called the War in the West

I think there a bunch of units that it would be "cool" (but certainly not necessary) to add as "legacy units" from pre-world war era :

- Tankettes (basically light tanks with no anti armor capabilities)

- Cavalry (basically fast foot infantry)

- Battlecruisers (Cruisers with Level 1 battleship range attack value, but cruiser HP value of course)

- [fancy] Cruiser submarine - submarine armor class, but range of a cruiser though attack value is worse than that of a level 1 cruiser)

Those units would start level 1, be given to some countries at the start of the game, no capacity to build, no capacity to upgrade. But yeah, that would be purely cosmetic, and there is probably a bazillion more prio items on the to-do list :).

That would be cool. I thought of the idea of having a tankette that is like the militia of armor and only needs an industrial complex in 1.0

A battle cruiser might be interesting. A cruiser but with larger guns.

Again, for me you should not be able to build them (except maybe cavalry). They are just here for the fluff // immersion and to give some countries a booster at the beginning but that they cannot leverage by upgrading.
