How come atomic bombers are invincible on the ground?

I had tactical bombers fully leveled up to the star, attack a city that had a 9 stack of atomic bombers level 1 on the ground. I sent 3 different groups of 10 tactical bombers from 3 different directions to attack the 9 stack. Then I had another 5 tactical bombers hit the 9 stack, that’s 35 total tactical bombers that are fully upgraded to the star level, and the bombers only took 1/4 of the atomic bomber stack’s health.

Can someone fix this glitch?? There is no way 35 bombers shouldn’t be able to destroy 9 atomic bombers on the ground. :wallbash :wallbash

as far as I concern, Atomic bomber that are idle on the airstrip are classified as an aircraft class armor, meaning that 9 atomic bomber is considered as an aircraft. and we know tactical bomber didn't do well against aircraft.

so, if you've been sending 35 fighters instead of tact's it will probably resulting well. but, let say hypothetically, if you destroy the airstrip, with gold, spy, rocket, or whatever and turn those atomic bomber into a truck, that truck will be considered as light armor and we know that tactical bomber smoke light armor pretty easy.

there are two ways to destroy them with planes faster

first one is send interceptors

second is send strategic bombers destroy air base and after this use tactical bombers

So you’re saying interceptors do more damage to grounded planes vs. a tactical bomber dropping bombs? ‍♂️

**Update**

Repeated the same run of tactical bombers on the same 9 stack of atomic bombers. 35 fully leveled up units, 3 groups of 10 and 1 group of 5.

results: the 9 stack of bombers has gone down to 8 and has 1/3 health remaining.

this is ridiculous. :wallbash :wallbash :wallbash

yes, it seems illogical but trust me, that is how the game mechanic work. grounded plane are treated like a plane in the air. unless they're a truck

How come, that a player producing 35 Tacs at star level has no clue to use them properly (must have been a speed game, where this phenomenon occured)?

What I can understand is to assume that any unexpected unit behavior in COW seems to be a "glitch" due to a lot of unexpected unit behaviors (in comparisson to something like reality). What I can also understand is to assume that something must be a "glitch" in the game, because there are a lot of glitches in the game especially concerning aircraft. Unfortunately, the air craft behavior you mentioned is well known as a non-glitch one.

planes at an airfield scramble when an air attack is coming in.

unfortunately, this behavior is not animated, so many players think it is a glitch.

My point was more of it’s very unrealistic to think a bomber cannot destroy a plane on the tarmac, let alone 35 bombers cannot do the job either. It doesn’t matter if they are tactical bombers, attack bomber, or a strategic bomber. planes are made to drop bombs no matter what type of plane it is. So wouldn’t multiply bombs falling from 35 bombers take out a city? let alone 9 helpless bombers lined up on an airfield??

Planes sitting helpless on the ground should not have the same defense points as a plane in the air. Pure and simple.

Atomic bombers on the ground can seem invincible because of how game mechanics work, units like atomic bombers often get strong defensive stats or damage reduction while grounded, especially in a stack. This isn’t a glitch but a balance issue in some strategy games. Just like the powerful 9000 vapes that last long and feel unbreakable, grounded atomic bombers are made to be tough, so they can’t be wiped out easily by regular air attacks. Try using ground units or spies instead, as they are usually more effective against grounded bombers.
