Why did you vote for what you voted for?
Ever since I joined the forums, I've seen a number of ideas that have come up that were great, but were discarded because they would confuse new players too much. I think I have a solution to that problem.
First of all, tutorial games for newbies should be separate from all other games so new players can work out their strategies with other new players. This would also help with any new players quitting because a high level player comes in and destroys them. I also think a warning should be put in that tells players when they join that if they don't log in within two days, they will be classified as inactive on the game.
Now let's get down to the point. I think several different 'levels' of gameplay could be added in with different features in each of them. The first level could be called 'arcade'. This level of gameplay would most likely be what we are currently at in all games. The second could be called 'simulator'. This level would add in new features not in the arcade level that would make the game a bit more realistic, while still having the more un-realistic features of the arcade level. The final level could be just called 'realistic'. This level of gameplay would include a lot of realistic features and not many un-realistic features. It would probably be the most challenging, so I suggest that it be locked off to new players until they reach a certain level to guarantee that they can deal with the new features.
Please tell me what you think below guys. I would also like it if you voted on my poll.

Really good idea! I hope that the this would be put in, most of my friends need to learn! But they have learned over time by using their strategy. I think this is a good idea!!
Dont get all touchy. I dont like the idea and think it isnt one of your better ideas.Kehsct wrote:
Ocean, do you mind using punctuation and correct grammar? I can barely, if at all, understand you.oceanhawk wrote:
No I havent...Nobody, when they just join, will just quit cos they lose..Kehsct wrote:
Ocean, haven't you been seeing new people leave because an experienced player comes into their game and destroys them? Plus, I think a few players are probably a bit frustrated that their ideas aren't getting approved.oceanhawk wrote:
This is simple, killing the heart and soul of the game..might as well, make a new game all together..
Add a bunch of new units, let people make their own ways of playing..
leave it to be free, let people decide how to play..
Leave it up to alliance to Train people..
maybe if the get gold abused..
I preferred my early days of playing, cos I was experimenting with tactics, and had more of a challenge..
Nobody will quit, the game cos they lost the first game they played..
If peoples, Ideas are getting approved, its more than likely, there is a valid reason
And I hate to say it, but I dont think most things get approved..
we just post and discuss.. but in time a lot will come..

I'm not touchy. I can just barely understand you most of the time.oceanhawk wrote:

If anyone here plays s1914 you probably know they have something similar where you can choose what units will be allowed in the game. Bytro could probably add this to CoW without too much trouble, considering they already did it for another game.
What do you not agree with?
The "simulation" catagory. I think it's a bit redundant is all.
I mainly put it there as a go between. Most people wouldn't want to be thrust into a tougher game-mode with a lot of new, challenging stuff that you weren't prepared for.GreatbigHippo wrote:

i support the idea of realistic map modes, it would be a really nice change, since the arcade-ish gameplay that we already have is boring, the same thing, over and over again....
a fully historical mode would be fun, as you get to "recreate" history

Welp. This thread and my idea died...
Haven't they already implemented items to prevent uberplayers from wiping groups of noobs as much?Kehsct wrote:

Well, there's plenty of defensive units and strategies you could use to save yourself, but you wouldn't know to use them if you're a noob, so probably not imo.temmie1 wrote:
