Ideologies/regimes

So this era that the game is set in,there were different regimes and ideology, why not make that an option as some give a bonus and a repercussion.I would like to first of all hear your opinion on this before this discussion continues. The regimes would be militaristic, democratic, communism you name it,they would all have boosts, like boost to military and unit production, but a negative morale modifier and higher cost of troops.

Communism would be easier on the morale and building construction speed up resource yield, downside is lower money and food consumption and no trading with countries that aren't communistic.

So i think this would be a nice diverse factor in conquest and to add to that, if a specific regime or ideology is getting popular (if more countries are switching o it,or that nation is sharing a larger border) also adding a new relation in diplomacy "Closed borders" lowering the pressure a country is applying on yours but it will give negative morale.

Thats my suggestion,so i would like to see how does this sound to you guys?

"I came, I saw, I conquered" Written in a report to Rome 47 B.C., after conquering Pharnaces at Zela in Asia Minor in just five days; as quoted in Life of Caesar by Plutarch; reported to have been inscribed on one of the decorated wagons in the Pontic triumph, in Lives of the Twelve Caesars, Julius, by Suetonius.
"Alea iacta est" Gaius Julius Caesar.

Well i didn't do my research right, sorry on that but honestly not every single part has to be good from the start,if i miss something or get something wrong here, then correct me because its how you get the idea of something that we all find a compromise in.

But you get the deal here?Regimes that are giving certain boosts but give a repercussion for you to deal with. And the general idea is that at the start it will take a day to convert your whole country to a specific regime since its realistic,it takes time to put a regime into effect. And the bigger the border friction (adjacency to another country, the more likely it is to be influenced and to make sense in the newspaper it would be a message "Citizens of "That" region( or province) demands this for instance communistic regime. So eventually thru out time if the country doesn't either develop a regime of its own or closes borders with that country and eliminates the influence significantly with a downside of unhappiness.

The option itself to change regimes is probably going to be if you have a capital(rhetorical question, duh you will have a capital, but im talking about when your moving or rebuilding it in a another province. So it would cost money and possibly goods,(we can come up with a price for regime ) but to when you already have a regime you will have to worry about rebel resistance of those provinces that dont like that regime. So its not an easy flip from militaristic to capitalistic,if your doing it against a lot of your provinces then you will be facing a lot of resistance so with an army you will have to get it back.

I think it might be to advanced for a simple browser game, y'know?

Probably yes.

After all, this game is trying to build its reputation of being a war game, not political simulation. I am not saying that suggestion is bad, just it is too complicated and it would not contribute much.

This doesn't really have a lot of politics unless you want it,since this is like a setting you want in a game. It's political because it sounds like it.Also sure its a browser game but who said we can't have an amazing browser game.Tho i see your point, there is still more ways to look at this.

But to put this in a more simple less political view, gives you a boost but a downside you have to deal with. There are other countries who you can as well as they can effect you.You can stop it by either closing your borders or overpowering them or just going to war since war solves any dispute in regimes.Nothing else is really different in terms of politics.Maybe + morale for a country of a same regime neighboring you.

There is no need to make it political, you can simply go to war.

Lets be honest here. most of our ideas, no matter how amazing they be, is too advanced for this simple browser game. So i say be patient and wait for Hearts of Iron 4 :D :P
