Names are always gonna be more subjective. There is no way to be completely fair when picking what is or is not allowed. There will be more people named Stalin than Hitler, and more people named Enver Pasha than Tojo, even if they all sucked. There is no way to to really get objective with names of historical figures, people groups, jokes or any of that sort. It’s mostly fair and you can try your best but it’s always gonna be a little subjective.

Subjective to the time you're living in. This is about now, and about current sentiments about who is right and who is wrong. Obey to current ideas about political righteousness, and you'll be fine. If this game survives a century or two, Hitler might become the greatest guy who ever lived, but in five centuries he's wrong again. To whoever digs up this thread by then, just go with the flow.

With how almost comically evil he was, I wouldn’t be surprised if he enjoyed some strange leaves that only grow in the south East Asian jungle and were forbidden since ancient times for a cryptic reason of an ancient evil lol.

This an interesting sentiment. An example of something like this is American settlers. During say the 20th century they were seen as the first Pioneers of the American nations, but nowadays more and more people see them as pillaging scum who brought the worst disease and indirectly (and later directly) wiped out 2 continents worth of the human population. It’s interesting to see how views of the past can change over time.
One thought I had is if Germany had achieved its horrid plans of turning all of Eastern Europe German. What if in a few centuries people would start seeing it in a similar light to how we see the colonization of the Americas? Then later people would discuss how horrible it was, but by then it would be too late and people would already have settled here, replacing the native population. This greater Germany would have to look at its dark past and remember how it got here. The Eastern European and Slavic cultures that we know and love would be greatly reduced and thought of as sort of an ancient minority from the past. I am just rambling, but it’s harrowing stuff when you think about it.
