Rocket Fighters are translated as "Chasseurs aux roquettes", which actually means "Fighter with Rockets [to shoot stuff with]
A "rocket" as the stuff you send to space for instance is is called a "fusée" in French, and indeed the Wikipedia translation of Rocket Fighters is Avion-Fusée (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avion_fus%C3%A9e). "Avion" is plane rather than Fighters but it should be good enough.
Similarly, the name of a squadron in French is "Escadre de roquettes" or something similar, which is quite litterally a "squadron of rockets [the weapon]. I would rather go for "Escadre d'avions-fusées [plural of component words take a -s to each component that are not verbs in French]
Since I am there, though it is not as shocking, "rocket artillery" is called "lance-roquette d'artillerie", but the correct standard translation for rocket artillery is "Lance-roquettes multiple".

Finally, the V1 and other "flying bomb" is a "Bombe volante", not a "Bombe aérienne" (which means "air bomb")
