Sorry I'm new to the forum so if this has already been suggested I apologize. I really like the economic side of this game. I would enjoy allowing each of these to have a small impact on the overall economy in addition to what they already provide. Throughout the game, resources can be hard to come by. It seems to me that these two buildings are often overlooked (and underused, maybe?) because there are so many other things that are more pressing to spend resources on (troops/eco buildings/ war buildings/research/market/etc etc.) My suggestion would be that infrastructure boost eco (res/Money) and fortifications (both rural and city) boost moral. Again only slightly or I could see the argument of them becoming OP. For example, if one lvl of Industry increases eco production by 15% then one lvl of infrastructure could do 5. Or whatever the resource equivalent is cost wise, you could half it or even less because the buildings would still have their main uses. I know the game is not going for 100% reality but it makes sense that a province/city with better Infrastructure would produce more and if there were fortifications it would boost moral by giving citizens a sense of security.
Anyway, to summarize really like this game's economy overall but think this change would actually get me to consider both of these buildings more as opposed to just when I "have to have them".

Tbh I dont know why they dont scrap them. Never use them in what four years.
Only time I used infrastructure was if you play USSR or Aus or possibly USA and youd need to be in a fairly dominant position at that. Hardly ever use forts. Waste of space really. Golders (of which maybe 80% are) will just overpower them with ease with their 750 type stacks.

I like this suggestion to make the economic side of the game richer.
I wish we had economic units and research even, but COW developers seem to want to keep the economy simple and the game focused on the battles, which is valid too.
So i suspect your suggestion will not be implemented because of that.
Also, infrastructure (rails) are pretty useful already.
Early game they are too expensive, but later if you build them with care, you can get your troops to the fight faster for a reasonable price.

Iin the 1.0 version Infrastructure used to increase resource production.
Not sure why they took it away really.
Ports and Barracks also used to increase MP but if cost food and the effect could be turned on/off

It used to be this way, I guess they decided to make it simpler, one building makes one field of purpose, without mixing them. Don't remember exactly how it was, but few buildings had 2 effects for sure.
