This idea sounds great!
Infrastructure Tech Line
I would like to suggest a research tree for infrastructure. Items could include:
-Plastics - improved goods production rate for all provinces
-Synthetic oil - same as above except for oil and possibly at later levels to affect range of aircraft and rockets
-Medical research - for improvements to manpower production and unit healing rates
-Engineering - improvements to iron and/or rare materials production rates
-Psychology - for empire-wide morale bonuses
-Radio/radar - for improved morale (easier to communicate to the people far away) and improved line of sight for units
-computers - if youre at the point of ICBMs, you are using computers. Advanced computer research could improve production rates, or reduce research costs
I think this type of research options could really give players more choices on style of play and not unbalance the game.

Good idea.
"I came, I saw, I conquered" Written in a report to Rome 47 B.C., after conquering Pharnaces at Zela in Asia Minor in just five days; as quoted in Life of Caesar by Plutarch; reported to have been inscribed on one of the decorated wagons in the Pontic triumph, in Lives of the Twelve Caesars, Julius, by Suetonius.
"Alea iacta est" Gaius Julius Caesar.
I like the idea, but in the WWII era there weren't any ICBM's or computers capable of guiding long-range rockets. However if there is an option to research computers, they could be useful for mathematical calculations (as they were at the time) and could be used to improve unit speed (calculate better routes for units to travel), increased production, and perhaps more financial output.
I like it. I think everyone agrees that a new tech tree is needed. It would include what has been pointed out in this thread, research to increase every resources' production, and others.
The majority of users like this idea!

Perhaps you could even have a research option to increase research speed if you unlock "Computer Lvl. 1" and any other components necessary to improve research. This could expand into a variety of different uses, such as advancements in chemistry (which could allow for more lethal nuclear devices), lethal gas weapons (which was a vital part in WWII), flamethrower units, etc. Perhaps a Chemistry Tree could be added to benefit weapon efficiency? I could go on and on about all the possibilities of these new tech trees.
This is good idea.IISpikeII wrote:

Given this game runs over into the 1950s (and in parts the 60s and 80s) so computers are a really good idea.
I honestly love this idea, I mean few idea's ever get my full backing, but the idea that we can increase our domestic tech is amazing: its a key historical point that the USSR, UK, USA and Germany had to make domestic improvements to keep pace in the war.
Full support man! Good job!
