Landing Craft

I'm kind of disappointed we don't have landing craft in Call of War, since they are one of the most iconic pieces of military equipment used during the Second World War. They would act very similar to the Paratrooper unit by being a vulnerable transport that deploys infantry. It would be different from transport ships by having a near instant deployment time, and it would use a more advanced form of infantry like Parachute Rifleman.

Where are they gonna build a dock in northern Alaska? That region is so underdeveloped that at BEST you’d have like enough for two small boats there. Big difference to taking 6 hours to land an army, gather the men, reorganize, then get into a marching position. These aren’t marines either, they can be level one milita or RRG’s. If anything it might take longer depending on units!

There's a reason that there's usually only one route to the sea on a province. The coast isn't lined with docks of course, but there are definitely people living there that have made docks to travel. And again, you are making assumptions about the Transport Ship, so why can't I make common sense assumptions? And also remember that Militia is literally just a band of a few hundred soldiers, even if they aren't trained in combat they shouldn't take long to walk down a ramp or a ladder.

See because even IF your assumption is correct, there would NEVER be enough infrastructure in that region to support a possible stack of 700 units. Or just one unit of 800-2000 soldiers. It would still take hours to get hundreds of people to rendezvous, organize and move. You really underestimate how long it takes to organize large groups of people, especially in remote and unmapped areas.

Yes, there would be. You can build multiple levels of shipyards on any coastal province. And I mean you're kind of proving my original idea of why we need Landing Craft. I also wonder, are you in the military or something? Are you a commander of an infantry regiment? It doesn't take that long to get some guys off of a ship, and their equipment would be minimal. There's no way on earth that a Landing Craft would be able to carry anything heavier than a tank or a halftrack, so the only logical way of disembarking heavy equipment is either by crane, ramp, or disassembling it altogether. I get what you're trying to say, but you're no more correct than I am until the developers confirm what we're saying. There are many discrepancies in this game. Heck, you can literally make a rocket ship in a few hours while it takes the same amount of time to organize some soldiers and halftracks. If there were no roads or infrastructure to access the undeveloped areas, there would be no routes.

My man, there will never be infrastructure in an area with populations smaller than 500! Just because there is a route means nothing in particular the soldiers could simply be say marching though the ice. There doesn’t have to be a huge port in every city…

Edit:Read your post wrong, the part that was here is not true.

Believe what you want, but let's circle back around to Landing Craft. Let me ask you, should they be implemented?

No, simply because they don't need to. Although there are several issues with the current Transport Ships system, just cutting down the embarking time for higher levels would make a huge difference.

No, but when you level up transports you should have quicker disembarking times.

Shocked at how nobody agrees...

At least you shamed poor Brando into a pfp change…

His choice, maybe I was a little bit mean...

They added Paratroopers, Landing Craft are just as iconic and important especially within island nations which are numerous even on small maps.

But you saw how well paratrooper did, no? They are barely ever used, and interceptors along with good defense of your rear renders them useless…

CarKing the 6th of the Abrahamic Caliphate

That's why they need a buff, and once that happens they will definitely become useful. Even on the small Europe map, there are dozens of islands like Cuba, Nassau, Ireland, United Kingdom, Iraklio, Cagliari, Copenhagen, etc. Most of them you have to wait for almost a day to clear out the soldiers and even longer just for a slow Transport Ship to disembark them for half the day. I would use Landing Craft in every game, and I'm sure a lot of others would too.

With the way they work it’s debatable that paratroopers would ever become good when you can just shoot them down before they have a chance to land, but that’s beside the point.

When landing in places you want them, they’d land alone and be crushed by whatever counters them, which would then mean you might as well just get battleships and planes which can do other things and land with other units anyway.
