Obviously this is true. On D-Day ships like the Empire Lance reached the drop points and let go of Stanley Elton Hollis on a landing craftCarking the 6th wrote:

Landing Craft
I'm kind of disappointed we don't have landing craft in Call of War, since they are one of the most iconic pieces of military equipment used during the Second World War. They would act very similar to the Paratrooper unit by being a vulnerable transport that deploys infantry. It would be different from transport ships by having a near instant deployment time, and it would use a more advanced form of infantry like Parachute Rifleman.

This is why you don't send more than 10 units anywhere in the same stack.
And don't send convoys unescorted!Commander Schleicher wrote:

In my capacity as a casual history Wikipedia-surfer:
Not quite, the IJN had two craft considered the prototypes for modern amphibious assault ships: Akitsu Maru and (sort of) ShinshΕ« Maru. Both operated by the Imperial Army, the former had a flying-off deck and both were equipped with well decks capable of carrying multiple landing craft, already the two features of modern designs. Both saw extensive use but are anomalies and out of place in this game; that said, amphibious assault ships did exist!Commander Schleicher wrote:
And I don't even think you can deploy landing craft unless you have a Cold War era ship, but they can deploy lifeboats.

It depends. There were specific Landing Craft Tank used by the USA and Britain. Not sure if the IJN used anything like these. (example)Commander Schleicher wrote:

The landing craft had specialized tanks for a reason, the standard ones didn't perform well on the beaches. And there's no way you could load a Maus tank into a Landing Craft and send it to raid Britain, just doesn't make sense.
The Crusader as a type wasn't build to operate from landing craft and evidently was used, but it is a fairly small design as a cruiser. But obviously not a Maus.Commander Schleicher wrote:
