Yes that would be fun. But maybe a bit confusing as we can already change title name and flag.

Make it so we can change our country name like we can for our user name.
We can edit our country name for RP purposes, it just helps to bring more realism and help people see that that's who they want to be called. However, I can see people abusing this as well, for example, somebody could change there name to an inappropriate thing, I can't put do to obvious reasons. And, somebody might change their name to a random name unrelated to history at all, trust me, I know what I'm talking about, I've seen it multiple times before in Hearts of Iron 4.
Like I said before, I can definitely see some people disagreeing with this and I can totally understand if this doesn't
get added in.
My father once said this: “If you don’t know anything, don’t assume you know and don’t say anything you don’t know is true”
I always got annoyed when he said that, but to be honest he’s kinda right if you think about it

I think a good compromise would be to give each country a list of predetermined names they can change to. For example, the USSR could have Russian Empire, Kievan Rus, Germany can have Holy Roman Empire or Kingdom of Germany, etc...
