Mulberry harbours in ww2, d day helped to transport troops to Omaha beach(and another one that i forgot the beach name) after the Normandy landings.

There were also bailey bridges, a British invention, that helped allied troops cross wide rivers

well the mulberry harbour could work in: from UK to France, or Spain to Morocco, etc.
The Bailey bridge will work from Istanbul to the other side.
I think it's too specific and its use too limited.

well a smart person like me would not want to make all my troops vulnerable to air patrol attacks.
Even though u will still take damage, it would be less when vs. patrol bombers, u will get out of the patrol range.
Attack.
If the plane attacks a ship convoy, anti air wonโt work. Everything just dies. So, while on those bridges/harbours, they can fire while they move, killing the airplane too.
