I've done something similar, when I was North Ural and took South Ural, I declared on the newspaper that my new name was Ural.

Name Change
Hello! I would like to suggest that you guys add the ability to remove the North/South/East/West out of your country's name (if you have it) after a war with your others country. Sorry I'm not very specific, I'll provide an example.
If West Texas beats East Texas, there is no more East Texas, right? After there is no more East Texas, West Texas should be able to remove the "West" from their name. Please take the time to read my thread. Thank you!

Sadly given the boorish nature of some players I am afraid there would be many more cases of insults and obscene language in such names, so I doubt such a feature will ever be implemented.
