Naming Fleets

Just a quick one. I would like to be able to nickname my fleets since I have some for special duties. It would really help because I have fleets to transport units to protect from subs but then since I forget what it was for and it is near an enemy coast, I use for attacking coasts and build a new one to replace it. As you can imagine, it is a little annoying because while I am waiting for a new fleet, I have to split up a bigger one that is nearby and getting repairs.

I also thought about this idea and I also thought about it for divisions and squadrons, but it gets confusing, because what happens when you split it? And when you merge it with another one that already has a nickname?

The past is a foreign country.

When you split, it loses the name and when you merge, it takes the larger groups name.

Ok. I like it.

The past is a foreign country.

That would be quite useful.

This would really help organisation, giving a name to a division would allow you better manage your forces- and it work wonders for fleets.

And it gives you pride to see when your Spanish "Conquistadors" fleet takes out coastal armies within an hour :D

Certain divisions/fleets in games would get a good reputation

it woild be fantastic to name, fleets, air division, and land division.

It would be fantastic to create 7 panzer division, Afrika korps the JG52 and so on

He mentions 7th Panzer Div and I already love him.

It would good to also rename your reserve units, such as units that are low on health and you return to Rear echelon duties: 12th Armoured Div (Res).

Planning would be so much easier, and RP games would be taken to a whole new level

This is a good idea of when one would name a fleet. Here is picture of a severely damaged fleet from a naval battle. I would name it the Banjaxed Bitches. It would be very obvious not to use them.Forum attachment

I agree honestly, I have so many tank divs that all have a similar name and I get confused, and when it comes to fleets you can have "Home fleet", "Aux Fleet" and "High Seas fleet"

PS, what kind of naval action did those ships get into? 4% and still afloat it lucky

Damn, I prefer it when they run away...makes it easier to shoot them in the back

Much easier, yeah.

The past is a foreign country.

Yeah, 7th Panzer Division aka 'Ghost Division', Pacific Fleet, Northern Fleet, 4th Armored Corps. Need I say more? Also Taffy 3 anyone?

I could totally go for some dambusters.

ehi man, give some respect for men that fought and died for his country. Italians soldiers weren't coward, i remember that at el alamein were all germans troops were in full retreat the folgore division remained on his location to cover the retreat of germans and their friends. They destroyed an huge amount of tanks, well over their last bullet, they destroyed tanks with everthing they had. I have respect for this manand even their enemy had. The italian soldier was brave, unlucly we had a bad governament that gave to our land troops obsolete equippemet. i also want to remeber attack on alessandria by italian subs, a bad 14 december for royal navy. so please don't write this pure bullshit.

i still support this idea. is fantastic to name division
