province names are hard-wired into the map databases,
very difficult to change.

naming regions
I don't think it would improve my enjoyment of the game. However, I do enjoy naming the Carriers and Battleships and actually think I would name Cruiser, Destroyers and Subs too, if I could.

being able to change the names of provinces would most likely add more to what moderators would need to do seeing as people would decide to name their capital province something extremely rude or racist, and the carriers and battleships are single ships, while the submarines etc are groups, ( think)

Yes, I think you should check other forum post with the same suggestion. It will also go off the COW WWII topic. As fungus said, the mods will have monitor a lot of other things...

They are all built as a Single Unit - and I would never let an Aircraft Carrier sail as a single ship - made that mistake once and it was sunk by a solo Lvl 6 Submarine controlled by AI - So just shows, Submarines especially aren't always grouped.FUNGUS_TE_FIRST wrote:

no like they are built in squads. operate together etc, so naming is a bit complicated, you'd need to name like 5 ships everytime you mobilised them.

Naming provinces seems fun, but the mods would have another thing to monitor over in case someone decides to name a province something dirty or racist

They operate in squads but are built individually. If I have 2 Carriers and say 3 Battleships at present time in a Battlegroup, each will have its own name since I was rompted for a name prior to construction. The game offers a name, normally (always?) a province I own and I simply enter what I want.I typically name Carriers as Queen xxxxx & Battleships are Kings.FUNGUS_TE_FIRST wrote:

because each was built individually, the submarines etc are all built in groups, not on their own, like how making 1 light tank doesn't mean just 1 light tank, making 1 submarine doesn't mean you get 1 submarine
