Navies of conquered nations

When you conquer a nation 100% any naval vessels they have at sea should be forced backed to their shipyards where they are surrendered to the conquerer. You are able to capture factories and other buildings, ships should also be spoils of war.

I disagree. Many French vessels joined Britain even though France had fallen.

The past is a foreign country.

I disagree too. Why would ships go back and surrender? In WWII there was plans for the Brit to navy to flee to Canada if things went south.

Plus it's will give you a full navy without taking damage, or spending resource, there were examples of weapons taken during the war, but a ship? The crew will rather drown than to give the ship up.

Ok even if they aren't surrendered the game could let them continue to fight or let them go rogue just seemed a real shame that after I took a nation completely the impressive navy they had just set there and did nothing while my ships shelled them to the bottom

Meh ships were often scuttled if let in port (see French fleet in Toulon) to ensure they were not used by the enemy. Ships sailing around representing a defeated nation would leave that nation active, for game purposes this would not work. I see where you are coming from buts its just not very practical or needed in game.

I don't think it is a good idea- however, the fact that if you conquer a nation, and they have a massive navy, that you have to deal with that navy is a little annoying. I know it is historical, and your enemy could just trade it to their ally or something, but- whatever.

Pizza, why are you reviving dead threads with stuff others have already said?

I've no idea.

I am looking through dead threads and just commenting what I think... not sure why though.

Please don't. It is irritating because noobs will post on them "Oh great idea dur dur dur!"
