Nerf 'revealed all armies'

As the title says, I think this spy mission needs to be nerfed. Either by how it is achieved or by how much it reveals.

As it is now, it is too easy to reveal all enemy armies. It ruins the build up of a larger surprise or counter-attack as a build up may sometimes take more than 24 hours. It is a pitty because the game does contain a lot of options that would reward well planned, combined attacks.

Battlefield intelligence like reconnaisance and exchange of maps with other player should be the way to get info on the enemy. Not no-brainer daily update that you can put on automatic.

Maybe, but this ability is sure as hell fun to have!

I disagree. It can make the game much more strategic - you can trick your opponent.

Say that you know your enemy has a reveal all armies on you - don’t let them know you know. Instead, set a ‘false march’ just before daychange - that way, if your enemy thinks they’re safe from attack, you can trick them with this false march. You just tell all your armies to go in the opposite direction which they will go, then when your enemy gets the reveal all armies on you, you reset the march just after day change.

Alternatively, use spies yourself! Towards the end of many games, especially HWW games, whoever uses spies to the best effect just wins. You have the same access to spies as your opponent!

Have a blessed day <3

I think you missed my point.

What you say is true - it can be used to confuse about your intentions.

But preparations for multi-day operations cannot be hidden. And furthermore key, strategic information like your force composition and location of slow moving forces (like navy) cannot be hidden or used for fake info.

Problem: Too easy to reveal all armies

Solution: Counter ops spam

Well, in that case I'd say a change is needed to the ratio of successful missions of captured spies. Counter agents are worth nothing if the spies they capture complete their mission anyway. This happens very often. I don't know the ratio, but my impression is that it is about 70%

It’s actually 50%. And the spies getting captured is really painful considering the money cost. I never go over 100k until late game in most days, losing 10%+ of your money is not healthy!

I agree that this Espionage feature is OP. But instead of removing it completely, I would only remove the unit sprites so it would look like they are in partial stealth. However, you would still be able to see how many units are in a regiment so that way you can determine which part of the front is undermanned or not. But fortunately for me it's not a problem yet so I will not complain too much about it.
