So over some time, I made a list of buildings/features I think would be good to implement, or people seem to want to implement:
1) Radar would be a building that can be built in any province; rural or urban, it would extend the view range of the province depending on the level (level 1 - 50, Level 2 - 60 Level 3 - 75) I know this isn't super historically accurate, so maybe it should be renamed something like "observation deck"
2) Coastal Artillery Batteries could be built on coastal provinces, they would automatically open fire on any sea-going/naval enemy unit they caught sight of, and they would have the same range as battleships
3) Every so many days, Ships should have to refuel at the nearest port/naval base, to make this fair, they only need to refuel if they are not in combat, or if grouped with a convoy, and they can refuel in neutral nations' ports/naval bases, like planes, when needing to refuel, they should make their way to the nearest base/port and then immediately return.
I thought of some more ideas, but ultimately decided they would be too vulnerable to gold abuse, such as tax control, and hospitals/shipyards (I am personally against them).

I think it’s too late for Refueling, the current system for ships is already years old, and I think it might change the game a bit too much, leading to unforeseen consequences. Not to mention I already like the current system, even if it was unrealistic. I do like the other ideas but they may need tweaking.

damn, ships refueling would entirely change the game as ships are currently posses nuclear power
Only support coastal artillery ones, since a counter against a DD/CC/BB stack, since neither subs, naval bombers nor other naval units (unless they are OP or high in number) can defeat it. Since it doesn't make sense for battleships to shoot across Italy anyways, it would be a good counter to it.
For the ship refueling option, planes that patrol don't even need to refuel; bringing it just to ships would necessitate a change to patrolling as well. I vaguely remember the devs mentioning that the whole refueling thing is prolly never gonna happen either way.

If it's just ships and planes, then it'd be alright I suppose. There are more worthwhile features worth exploring tho, IMO

I completely agree, and also think that if it was used for land units it would undermine scouts.

i did not support any ideas above but what if radar can only spot incoming aircraft but eliminate province visual ability. you can't see aircraft above your province unless there is radar installation constructed.

Perhaps the use of auxillery supply/repair ships?... Require that a supply ship(s) with a supply 'capacity' equivalent to the ship(s) needing to be refueled, be within one naval dot distance (regardless of straight-line distance) at day-change, or the ship(s) suffer some amount of attrition...
This would necessitate that supply ships accompany warships and transports on long journeys, and inhibits a country on one side of the world from so easily colonizing another on the other side of the world... As the situation is now - and we have all seen this, more than once - a country can send out a dozen or more separate land units to different places around the world, and 'infect' other countries easily, spreading like a virus. It would be nice to make this strategy more difficult to implement.

Another separate idea that I think should really be added is unit healing. It would really be simple, allow units to go to their building type, and it would act like you are producing them again. If you have half health, it costs 50% of the original cost to build (or cost depending on level) and takes half the time, but heals the unit. Cities may be able to heal as many h it’s as you want at a time, or only one. Perhaps a hospital building could be added that allows for unit healing and the amount you can heal at a time goes up with its level. Either way I really think this feature is a no brainer!

Ah I see. Well the hospital was less of an important thing. I still think that you should be able to heal units, but without the addition of new buildings. That was my original hope anyway.
