New Buildings

I had an idea that would help reveal fog of war areas to potentially being able to see enemies coming in from certain areas. Radar stations the Level 1 radar station can see up to 60km level 2 can see 120km and level 3 can see up to 180km. They'd be best if used on coasts, islands, and borders to spot enemies from a distance. I want to see everyone's feedback on it.

There is a search function on the forum. Please use it before making a suggestion for the 1,000,000th time.

No idea what you mean but I'll do as I please

What I mean is, this suggestion has been made (and extensively discussed) about a million times before.

Of course you can do as you please. Just letting you know that some people will have a good laugh about you when your next suggestion is called "Hospitals".

WWII radar were almost exclusevely MTI with the sole objective of detecting aircraft.

there was no identification capability.

the current implementation of cruisers and AAA units includes the added range of the radar in those units.

please refrain from offering additional suggestions until you obtain a proper military education.

Why bother with Radar Stations when you can just use Interceptors, Motorized Infantry, and Armoured Cars? Idea is ok, but with there being units already for that purpose, I find it pointless.

Brand new to this game, but years playing Bytro's WWI sim, Supremacy 1914.

That one includes observation balloons, whose view range exceeds naval units, but is kinda perfectly matched to rail guns. They are very vulnerable to attack by interceptor aircraft, and I suppose even bombers could take them out. I like them for shore defense and spotting for artillery. A similar unit could work in this game, though the heavier presence of all types of aircraft would make them super vulnerable.

Historically, fixed building radar would seem accurate, especially for Allied units.

As with Supremacy 1914, a long range detecting unit or building would pair with rail guns. They say in their description that they really need a spotter. Rail guns in Supremacy 1914 work best as shore guns against naval attacks. I suspect that the same would apply to COW.

A topic search got me here, and refs to threads in naval radar. Happy to take reference to other relevant threads.

In this game Rail guns are the most OP unit in combat, not only against naval, but it's also painfully slow and has low view range, so has to be paired with Armored car, that will spot, and a lot of antiair units to protect it's only weakness
