New Game Feature: Taxation!

You see, this game may be called "Call of War", but let's face it-it's also important to keep the conquered people happy (or oppressed).

Hence, I would like to introduce...

TAXATION (Without representation!)

Every province produces a set amount of resources currently. Now, what if you could adjust tax rates?

You can now order a certain province to raise its tax rate. Remember, however, that for every 1% you increase the tax, the province morale will drop by 2%. If you raise the tax to a full double the normal output (+100%), you get a -200% morale effect. And not even a good fortifications can hold against that!

Also, taxation will only affect the cash produced by the province. It won't affect the production of other resources (manpower, food, metal, etc.)

And yes, you can even overtax your core provinces and make them rebel!

So get started! Conquer provinces and watch as they immediately rebel and join Luxembourg (stronk)! Conquer the USA as England and restore Taxation without Representation! And lose all of your provinces in one day! The choice is yours.

I like it!

The past is a foreign country.

What is the tax rate set at when a province is conquered? Since the production rate of units already takes so long, even with the Industrial complex and Infrastructure maxed out then these numbers should be increased in the province that has the tax rate at 2%. Otherwise there isn't any point to raising taxes in a province just to increase the output a few greenbacks with the chance of starting a revolt. Provinces already revolt on a whim even with morale above 75 %. Therefore, I am not in favor of playing around with tax rates.

I actually love this idea, and the little bit about the UK at the bottom.

Yes I was just thinking about this earlier. Maybe to improve this idea, you could change one thing. The Higher the tax rate, the lower the manpower produced by that country as well as the morale. In addition, you would need to figure out how much you can get at 100%, then what say, 15% of that would be. What would be a realistic tax rate?

Also, having to do with the rebellions, also realistic. But once that province rebels, what country would it join? Would it make a new country. Once the rebellion starts, depending on the amount of manpower in that province, should determine, how many militia units will be placed there. (Something had to fight to start a rebellion)

 Great Idea

I've never seen that. I think the threshold for provincial revolt is in the low 30s.

Be warned, however, that if you lose your capital you will experience an instant 20% drop in morale in all your provinces, which could lead to revolts in many of your distant or newly captured provinces. Repeated rocket attacks and nuclear attacks also cause rapid morale declines in the affected provinces.

I'm back to clarify a few questions.

1. Taxes only affect cash and moale. Nothing about other resources or manpower.

2. Max increase in taxes is +200%, bringing the cash output in that province to 75% of what it would be if it were a core province. But nobody's going to do that because then they'll have 0% morale, and that means it's rebellion time!

3. Yes, Taxation without Representation stronk (I'm from Boston, I know dis shite)!

4. Yes, Luxembourg stronk!

Below is an example of what would happen if you set your tax rate to the highest possible.
