You should add a playlist of music to the game
for example like this from HOI4:

Also when you play as countries, you should play their national anthem (either instrumental or vocal) and if we are talking about 100 player maps, you should put russian instrumental for russian regions and asian for asia etc etc

The good music is well over 6 years old, the good music for playing to is much closer to 90 years old, some even 200+ years. Like Marche de la Garde Consulaire Γ Marengo, it is a a great marching song that is still great to play to and it is 220 years old.
