I think the Hercules is far too late. A better example would be the C-47 Dakota, Lockheed Electra, or Junkers Ju-52
That said the game works on a regimental scale. Except paratroops, which are already nicely represented, aAt no point in the war were units this large transported by air. Supplies were -- notably over The Hump in the Himalayas -- but supply airlifts are redundant with the current resource system.
