New units that should be added

Okay, I think that I have a new list of units that could be added to call of war.

Anti-Tank Infantry:

These guys would have a high attack power against armored vehicles, they would not be very good against regular infantry. They would also be very good in Urban, Forest, and mountain regions, due to the fact that they could use the buildings, trees, and the higher ground to fight the tanks. Mixed with regular infantry and other tanks, it would be almost unstoppable.

Conscripts:

They are forced into military service, they would have stats in the middle of Militia and Infantry, they would have a low morale (due to being forced into military service) and would have a semi decent attack power. They would be best in plains and urban provinces. They would be cheap to produce and maintain, you wouldn't need an industrial facility to make them, but you would need a barracks.

Marines:

Oorah! Devil Dogs! These guys are NEEDED due to the fact we now have a pacific theater, they would be best utilized in island attacks, they would be regular infantry, but would not be in the convoy ships. They would have their own landing craft that they would use.

Local Resistance:

Just civilians that decided to pick up arms and fight, they would only have good strength in their home country, and you CANNOT produce them. They would have a medium morale and would also have a low health, they wouldn't really be used in large offensives, but if you have enough of them, they could win.

[/quote]These legitimately already exist.

They are called "anti-tank"

Not to be confused with Tank destroyer

For these, the marines one is a decent idea.

It somewhat fit under the PT boat idea. The rest would be useless considering "Local Resistance and Conscripts" could already serve the job of Militia.

But, that's just my opinion.

As for the landing craft, these ideas come and go.

They really wouldn't serve any purpose in COW as they basically would be a regular convoy.

First of all, anti-tank units and rebellions are already in the game. And from a statistical standpoint, I don't see why anyone would want something that is less valuable than infantry, but still cost more than militia. And as for the marines, its a nice idea, but its just reskined commandos. Personally, I don't see why these units would be added to the game.

Don't get mad, its just my opinion.

ItΒ΄s always easy to think of new units to introduce into the game.

The true mastership of game design is in suppressing the urge to do so, though.

Okay, I understand about the conscripts and insurgents, and thank you for the criticism. I still stand by my suggestion with Marines though.

Give us some stats for the marines, like perhaps they +50% strength on sea and have -50% in cities? Also, you need to figure out how much damage they can do they each class and how fast they are in each terrain(Note, both of these increase as the unit level goes up)

Marines (WW2) used transport ships at see as other infantry/tanks/artillery. They were no stronger than any other land troops at sea. I don't think it is good idea in general, but if they must be, let them be as in real life: beach assault troops.

Plus some terrain bonus, and attack bonus. That's all.

But do we really need them?

... besides there is already monarch in hell and he will not tolerate usurpers.

CoN has already marines: they have high attack but low defence. also like Infantry stats but def=attack and attack=def.

+ Bonus for embarking and more important for disembarking.
