Next Operation special unit suggestion

After flame tanks

Id like to suggest for the future another special unit, *Snipers*, It would act pretty much like a rocket artillery but with stealth.

The main problem i see is creating a new animation for the firing attack-defense

what other units would you like to see?

Motorized Infantry is just infantry that's moved around by truck. Really, if the game were being real, it would just have the same stats as foot infantry with the benefit of moving around the map faster.

Motorcycles were present as message runners and (some) recon companies in nations like Germany. They weren't an actual combat formation, even within the countries most well known for them.

Actually they were in 1.0. It was changed because they were an extremely impopular unit. I still think that was a bad decision.

It is a completely unnatural unit, doesn't feel at all like the actual unit it represents. I'm not saying that it should be changed to defensive in the unit set as it is, cause that would cause balancing issues; but those were the units that would defend ground that the armored units took, when the enemy counter-attacked and before foot infantry arrived. Like someone said above: these units were basically just infantry transported in trucks. Similar combat stats, just faster. If you want attack infantry, make mech that; but they are somehow neutral.

I've already seen this suggested, and I'd like you to consider one thing. HOW DO YOU THINK SNIPERS WORK!?!!? DO THEY RANDOMLY FIRE UPWARDS AND GET 360 NO SCOPES? This makes absolutely no sense. Bad suggestion IMO

Erm, about what actually?

an engineer unit that would be able to speed up the construction of infrastructure and Repair of factories. It would be mobile not stealth able to destroy bunkers like a commando unit

Frankly, the came currently has most of its bases covered as far as battalion/unit types.

My only real suggestions:

  • Break up Special Forces into Marines, Mountaineers, etc.
  • Engineer battalion with a scaling ability to allow its stack to mitigate fortifications. It, itself, is a defense unit with lower-than-infantry attack but high defense against ground units to simulate field works. Comes in Motorized and Foot varieties.
  • Divide Artillery into Light, medium, and heavy varieties with light artillery having mobility bonuses over bad terrain in exchange for weaker firepower. The others are self-explanatory.
  • Divide Cruisers into Light Cruisers and Heavy Cruisers, maybe. I dunno, dude.

Snipers? They are useful for ambushing small groups of enemy foot infantry and sow terror and panic in the enemy. Against brigades of light tanks, mechanized inf and meds? scoped Mosins and Kars clearly don't work...

Give me war trains. I know we have railroad guns. Lets flesh them out to build tracks (infrastructure) as they slowly move. Make the trains do something cool Bytro. I have faith.

Trains equipped with tons of guns aren't that cool. The Germans have a specialized unit to destroy tracks (The Railroad plough). In any provinces without tracks, "war trains" would be rendered useless. Furthermore, their speeds sucks, hindered by their armour. Another reason that makes war train concepts not feasible is that the armour on the trains can only stop small caliber shells, so, a light armoured unit, with speed slower than mechanized inf
