Non Core Provinces Penalty

A few days ago I started my first game on Call of war 2. I have to say here that I'm a veteran on Supremacy. When I saw call of war i really felt captured with it. Had also the luck to start with a country that I like to play on Sup. Turkey. So I decided the logical move : Go West to the the old friends Yunanistan (Greece). When I captured West Thrace and then Salonica I saw aghast that production had a 75 % penalty on the newly captured (named non core) provinces. This as you can understand is plain stupidity. You must rectify this. You can do it with one of the following ways

  1. Drop production penalty on a similar way that morale is increased on newly captured territories
  2. Keep the penalty but has to be much lower around 25 % perhaps
My suggestion is to go with option number 1

Thank you

No, this way the game is more fun and stops a major spam of units because of the penalty. I mean, you can build pretty big armies as it is. Without/lowering the penalty would make it much like S1914 where we could sacrifice more than a million soldiers and still have the biggest army.

Mess with the Bill, you get the scorn!

penalty and high upkeep are anti "Blitzkrieg" mechanics. Without it could 1 hyperactive and hyper agressive player end each game within 2 weeks.

It's right for non-core to produce at 25% of res for numerous reasons.

1. Prevent spamming of units.

2. To prevent a nation to be OP as all hell

3. And finally to show that no one want to be subjugated as slaves, japanes occupation is not a good thing, lots of stealing and rape and even murder from occupying forces, it shows the population is "rebelling" in a sence.

You don't need more explenation why your suggestion can't be done.

"Victory needs no explenation, defeat allows none"

in s1914 victory invariant has speed and greed.

in CoW victory invariant is calm and composure

in terms of overall strategy for action these games are very different. if you only just came from s1914 that you need time to adapt

I agree, both games requires different set of skills. I am suprised no one has played as Germany and did a Blitz and took a whole bunch of countries.

i play my 5th game as germany, ( i started 5th game 1 day later i started my 1st) also i did blitz, but it is not possible to win with blitz. Now im at rebalancing my forces and economical issues. Ok i dominate europe, but only cause i have an ally who block second strongest player in game.

Exactly, It would make someone conquering territory more than others early simply too big to lose. It is bad enough as it is.

I agree with 1, but I think it should take much longer for the penalty to drop than for morale to rise. Like, for morale to rise it may take a week or two, but for the penalty to drop it should take a month or more, to simulate the peoples becoming acclimated to their new ruler. Also, i think that the maximum it could lower to would be 50% as 25% seems too low.

I did, but as Poland. I took a gamble to take out berlin, minsk and kiev on the first or 2nd day.

Worked out, as the players left XD
