Non-instantaneous trading with new freight unit
I know it will never happen but i still think it would be really neat.
Add a new unit freight. When you make a trade on the stock market a freight is spawned with it's destination being the other capitol. When it arrives it is destroyed and the stockpiles are increased. They could be clicked on and moved like regular units if desired.
The map would be littered with freight, but they could be hidden. This could be an optional feature like elite-ai, and could even cost gold to use.
From there blockading could be implemented by treating freight like really weak infantry that can be destroyed. Convoys and escorts could be had by merging freight into stacks with destroyers. Give freight a 'continue to destination' button to end manual control.
Some sort of rallypoint and waypoint paths could be implemented.
Also, every turn each province with a resource spawns a freight unit with its destination being the capitol.
For another level of "never going to happen", there could freight types with fuel, supplys and ammunition that need to be consumed by army units to perform various actions.

I think it's a good idea that could use some refining.

Attack rapidly, ruthlessly, viciously, without rest, however tired and hungry you may be, the enemy will be more tired, more hungry. Keep punching.

It would be a type of game like an elite-ai one you pay for. Everyone elses cargo could be destroyed too.
I wouldn't pay for it, I can't be sure that others will buy stuff off the stock market, nor that my ships/boats will get their cargo.
Infact, i'd like this idea if we had a 'hardcore' system: like if you want to trade, no more Player-to-player trades by just clicking: you've gotta send that baggage train or cargo ship and hope for the best.
