Well the cool thing about it is you could give it to all factions, the longest range artillery piece they have plus some nuclear research tech, its a logical step for a nuclear power to put it in an artillery shell for a cheap but effective way to deliver it.
Nuclear Artillery
After having watched the MGS V trailer and gameplay video from E3, I remembered the start of MGS III at the end of the first mission. At the end, a character uses a Davy Crockett nuclear artillery piece to destroy a Soviet research facility. So I though this would be pretty fun in-game, since it fits in with other units. I can't remember when it was first made but the last units with them were deactivated in 1968, so it would fit in pretty close with Germany's Leopard 1, which was made in 1965.
The unit would be really expensive to research and build, slow moving and would most likely always die if caught in combat and only really be available around day 60. It would help bring an end to long running games when no one wants to release a hail of nukes but still wants to fight.

I think this would be amazing for the game. The US had nuclear arty by 1950, M65 Atomic Cannon to be exact.

An upgrade for the nuclear rocket on the tech tree maybe?

No, a rocket is more powerful and has longer range. This is basically super artillery(don't get mixed up with super heavy artillery).

It would make for a great anti-infantry weapon, although that role is filled by all of the long-ranged attack units so far.

Meh, artillery is too slow and aircraft are rendered useless if you use 2 or 3 AA's. Also, this could be a devastating anti tank weapon and could destroy forts with ease.

yeah but AA cant stop rockets cleary doing something wrong butter ball , also one major issue with these nuke guns well the first one you mention tended to kill the poeple who shot it due to the poor range and then the 2nd one with the rail gun will you would need to build rail roads to everyone and also it would be a one shot like the nuke bomber so it would be super slow to get ot the front just for one shot.
well thats my thoughts.
A rocket is useless against infantry, most of time infantry would be on the move during a war unless you caught it just as it came from a factory.

maybe as an update for the railway gun?
If this goes ahead then we might need upgrades for defence against nuclear arty, maybe a new fallout style update? ![]()
