Nuclear limitation

Nuclear bombs would have to be limited for each player.

Nuclear limitation? why?

their main job is to destroy cities and if you time it right units.

instead of limiting them jump their cost.

This is an outrage. We should never have a limit to nukes!

Since Rockets and Nukes don't actually have an upkeep cost, this may be something to look into.

It is most certainly NOT something to look into, did the US and USSR stop making nukes because it would be unfair on the other side? Why not just give them an upkeep cost of manpower or something to simulate people falling down silos and such.

The US and USSR did limit their nuke stockpile, plus they do lots of damage, no upkeep and such.

Double the resource cost of nukes but not rockets.

Ever heard of SALT(stratigic arms limitation talks) it basically limits the number of nukes the US and USSR have leading to some nukes getting dismantled.

Meh. It probably wasn't to make it fair on each other was it? More to stop the destruction of everything.

It's an interesting idea if it implemented as a way of diplomacy.

You can send your opponent a diplomatic request to limit any type of weapons. What weapons and what size limit - setting request. It can be not only missiles, for example a fleet. It could be an agreement to limit the size of the fleet, such contracts were many in history. If the opponent has approved your request - limit takes effect.

It should be an option when making a game.. Otherwise this game will be ruined.

it is important in any moment offer the choice to limit - the player can accept or refuse

Yes, I agree. It would be good for stuff like RPing, as you want to limit the army of the guy you've just taken some provinces for. Some kind of Treaty of Versailles.

The past is a foreign country.

As long as we have an option.

Number of nuclear weapons, I think, should not be a mystery. every day in the news comes statistics "the strongest army", "largest economy" and others. You can add to the statistics on nuclear weapons, which will be shown every 5 days. then each player will be able to control the opponent and compare its power with other forces. if it is to work, the limits are not necessary

I like the sound of Sandevot's idea.

Let's go to the number of nukes on the newspaper idea, that way we know who have the most number of nukes and gang up on him ^^

Exactly, just like the armies right now.

If we do it in an RP it will be like the Cold War where USS and USSR talk about nukes, it can really add flavor to it.

there will still be limitations though, on the players choice, don't want the entire world knocking at your door.

About all I can say is , fortifications, should work against nuclear attacks.

Biggest threat to the world :

Russia : 10 Nukes

USA : 09 Nukes

UK : 02 Nukes

Nice idea

Let them build a nuclear lvl 6 fortification, that can be developed at the same time nukes can.

This way, you will be required to actually build a decent 5 levels before you can add the 6th and make it extra strong.

IRl you're not building nuclear shelters all around... so this way they can be developed and build where one seems fit.
