Although im sure many people may like the new look of maps, I preferred it the old way, I would certainly like the option to use the in game setting to choose between the flat map, and the new terrain maps at my own will. It seems easier for me to focus on the units without it.
We will continue to improve the design, but we cannot support two versions right now.
Having several versions makes every future change to the game much harder (it sometimes takes twice as long), and we don't want to diverge our development resources like that.
I didn't realize it was that complicated. 
Maybe to put Pins back please please please?
