So a coup? as cool as it would be, this could break the game because what if someone has a stack of allot of troops and then you can take that? decent but would need tweaking.
Pay another army to join you
So, let's say you're at war with a country. There should be an option where (not in diplomacy) you take a part of their army for you. This would be done by paying them off to join you. Like, if there's an infantry regiment, and you pay some money, it would give you a probability that the infantry regiment would then belong to you. I'm not talking about trading armies, this is different. There would also be something in the newspaper like:
Betrayal! The first infantry regiment of [country name] has joined [country name] after being paid [price]!
Maybe this could be done with like another type of thing a spy can do where it can go to the province where the army is at and then pay it to join you. Though, there will be a chance the army will refuse.

well, maybe if someone tries to buy your troops, it would give you a notification and how much money they're doing it for, and you could pay your troops more to keep them.
If this was a change to the game. We should not get a notification but pay more attention with what was going on with our own troops and it should be done with spies.
Remember you are playing a WWII simulation where there was a lot of nationalism in grained in the populations. You would never see a Japanese unit flip sides due to the shame it would bring upon himself, his family and the emperor. You are paying to recruit a spy $15,000 plus a set amount dependent upon the mission.
Taken to the unit level of 1,500 men at 15,000 each you need to pay $22,500,000 to get the unit to flip.
Interesting thought, but it does not fit the genre.

With all due respect to the proposer, I hate this idea. Threads like this one make me wish the forum had red down arrows.
@MontanaBB Since we have a "like" button, maybe we should propose a "dislike" button?

you have to go thru the bad ideals to get to the good ideals. That said, most everything looks good on paper.
There ya go!
I've decided we need a Kick In The Butt button.
So it would be like bribing them?
Not gonna work well imo. That's going to break the game.
You are already aware of trading armies via diplo so I don't really need to explain it since it's probably the closes thing (but not exactly what you want).

I said there would be a probability that they would join you, not that they would.
I have different idea.

Balancing issues, people could just pay money to take away troops. Sure, you said it would have a probability, but implementing. People would complain that they paid money for nothing, and when it works people would complain they lost an army to money.
