Pay to Play option

@freezy

Over the years I have read and contributed to a request to have a pay to play option where you would pay gold up front to join the game, and then either no gold or a limit of gold would be allowed in the game. There was a time we could pay up front to have an elite AI, this would be similar. Pay up front to not allow gold. Case in point, below is from the paper of a game I am currently in:

12:28 am Building finished in Panamá: Bunkers.

12:28 am Building finished in Panamá: Naval Base.

12:28 am Building finished in Panamá: Naval Base.

12:28 am Building finished in Panamá: Naval Base.

When more experienced players see this kind of activity they simply quit and join another game or quit and never come back. I took a long recess due to this kind of actviity. Those of us who would like to play on a level field would be willing to fork over a set amount of gold to do this. So while you are experimenting within 1.5 how about a no gold varient? Everyone who plays forks over say 10,000 gold, which I estimate is about $5 equivalanet and the gold use button is hidden. A 100 player map would generat $500 in gold sales. If your average take on a game is closer to $1,000 then charge us each 20,000 gold to join. It would eliminate a lot of frustration within a large segment of your membershhip who simply want a level palying field. This is something that has been asked for since before I joined COW. Please consider it. You would still offer the pay to win variety where spending is unlimited, while offering a niche for those of us who enjoy COW but have significantly more limited purse strings.

Has been asked for for many years now, still no movement on the Bytro front, but it doesn't hurt to remind Bytro that this would be a MUCH MUCH MUCH more appreciated feature than any complete 1.5 overhaul.

As a secondary advantage, we would get less drop-outs. Currently people jump into a game, something happens which slightly displeases them, and they drop out and start a new one, leaving maps full of inactives... when they paid real money to be in it, they would think twice.
