A couple alternatives for you are alliance matches or the player's league. Most alliance matches are with no gold use rules and the Bytro sponsored player's league is no gold use.

Pay to play - would be nice
Is there games that you can pay for up front?
There needs to be for us players that don't mind paying to join a game and after you join players can't use gold.
That would make everyone equal through out the game no gold bonuses period.
I know you guys at Call of War want to make money....that's why you do this.
BUT....is the any price and near a price that could be fair to both....us and you.
100 player game and $5.00 per game = $500.00 for you. If that isn't fair to you what about $10.00 per game or I would even go $15 or $20......but some players may not go that high.
But it would be great not to have advantages because of gold!

Could you explain how to get to the alliance matches and the Bytro sponsored player's league.
I have looked around and don't see anything resembling either one of those.

Player league is a free to play tournament that happens once every month. Which usually the winner at the end of the season gets a gold reward . But player league is ran by a point system. Id recommend checking it out! I havent played it in awhile due to it always being the same people but you should try it out
