All units have an inherent AA capability. Most of the time its low.
Planes Damaged?
I still haven't understood why planes like the Tactical Bomber takes damage from attacking enemy armies that don't have AAs. It makes no sense at all. This is a major issue with using planes because the whole point of using them is to destroy enemy units but whats the point if they die before they even kill the enemy. This also makes researching up the Anti- Aircraft line pointless. Since most people send planes to attack and then log off and they come back with their planes dead. From someone like me who uses planes quite often this is a major issue. Since i have to keep building new ones and the resources are scarce. I'm also going to make a poll.

During the invasion of Sicily(I think) paratroopers were ripped apart and scattered by the AA's of their own troops, which started with the tanks. All tanks had an MG on it which could usually be used as anti-aircraft, with American's putting an MG on everything to shoot down aircraft. What your saying is good, but maybe if it just gets nerfed rather removed.

I would happy with nerfing it because its a game but unless the planes are flying super low its almost impossible to shoot down a airplane. Ex. The .50 Cal Browning Machine Gun which was the most powerful round on any tank when it came to Machine Guns. The .50 Cal Bullet has a max range of about 2,500 meters.Which is equal to 8,202.10 feet which the average altitude of a plane in ww2 was even for the Kamikazes which had no oxygen systems and stripped planes about 10,000ft or higher. Other than those most bombers and planes fly at a altitude of 30,000 ft. And what you said was the Paratroopers not the actual planes.Butter Ball Bill wrote:

Paratroopers flew in Dakota's, which were shot at. That is what I meant.

Makes since now but those planes are forced to fly low so they are able to be shot so if their was paratroopers in this game that would make since for those planes but not Bombers that are thousands of feet higher.Butter Ball Bill wrote:

They were high enough, I believe. Can't remember though.
