I believe that in the 1939 Historic World War map, the "Minors" of Europe could be given a fair and balanced show. I know you do not want to put the minors in, but in this map, countries such as The Netherlands and Portugal could be implemented, more as the Dutch East Indies and Portuguese Africa, however.

Portugal at it's colonial peak dwarfed the Germans. Even factoring in the 75% penalty to production in the non-core colonies, this would put Portugal in 1939 at almost 210,000 square miles, whereas the Germans in 1939 had almost 245,000. This is a bit bigger then say Sweden as of today is 173,860 square miles.
Considering a modern day Indonesia with the 75% penalty would be at about 180,000 square miles, the Netherlands, though slightly weaker, would be in the same boat.
There isn't a similar map for the Netherlands though.
So what do you guys think? Should what would be considered minors in any other map be added here?
NOTE: This would only apply to the "1939 - Historic World War" map. The Netherlands and Portugal would be considered the minors you devs have stated you do not like to add in almost any other map.

if you look in the comprehensive suggestion list pinned above, then you will find that the idea of playing as an AI country is NOT being considered.

yeah Dutch East Indies could be viable, it's a really big blank spot on the map.
There is a easily fixable problem, and that would just be the morale
It would be interesting to play as Portugal, the Netherlands, or even Belgium with their colonial territories. But for the great powers, it would more difficult to expand their territories at the begining of the game.
Playing as the Netherlands or Belgium surviving a german or french invasion, or playing as Portugal surviving an spanish invasion could be a real challenge, both for those who are invaded and for the invader.
