Hmm, I frequently do very well on regular resource maps in terms of war. You may need to just rethink your strategies

It was a map I enjoyed for exactly the reason you changed it. Unlike all the other maps, it allowed you to start attacking other players immediately. Every other map (and now the Blitzkrieg map, too) requires you to sit around for a week before you can do anything. I don't see what the problem was with having one map where everyone more or less has unlimited resources at the start of the game.

Personally, I enjoyed the different strategies that could be used for the Blitzkrieg map. Due to the change, what is the difference between the Blitzkrieg map and the 10 player road to war map?
You start with more advanced units, and each nation has a separate tech tree

I second this idea. The cool thing about the Blitzkrieg was that you were able to build IC's everywhere!

Ah, they finally changed it? Might give that Blitzkrieg map another go then
I agree, I really liked having industrial complexes and infrastructures all over the United States within days!
Good suggestion.
I agree they should bring large starting resources back
I agree. That WAS my favorite map...
Yes it WAS my favorite. My first ever maps I played on were that map... and I won every game I played onn that map except for 1.
There might have been an issue with players joining the large resource pool just to build economic stats.
Take a look at the leader board, and you will see many with very high economic stats, and not much military.
