Movement speed seems already to slow or okay
Rate of fire or Damage .. is a good point ... anyway ... I dont know better players who are using this unit constantly.
Having come across a number of differing strategies with the game there seems to be a favoured one at the moment which seems out of balance with reality.
I'm talking about the use of Railroad guns. These units were developed to be used as siege guns., most effective against fortifications and troop morale.
That is not how they are being used in the game. They are to many players the primary attack units. When stacked with anti aircraft and a scout for spotting they are incredibly powerful. Too powerful.
The imbalance in my mind comes from two capabilities that need addressing. Firstly is movement speed. These units used to take several days or even weeks to relocate and prepare to fire. They are way too fast in this game. Especially when used in advancing. During WW2 railways had to be rebuilt to allow the German forces to redeploy these units. No such requirement in this game. Secondly, rate of fire. These units fire as quickly as any other artillery unit. Again this is unrealistic. The rate of fire of these units should be much slower. If that can't be handled within the game mechanics then reduce the damage against units to reflect the very slow rate of fire.

should only be able to move between regions with level 3 infrastructure if you ask, so that strat bombers runs can stop their movement and cut them off, also i agree that it should be siege unit, should lower damage against everything else, and increase damage to buildings and region morale, maybe buff damage against ships so it be used as a coastel defence gun aswell, since ships are much larger targets then things like infantry sqauds or small vehicle so it make more sense to have more damage on ships aswell since its more likely to realistically hit a battleship then a armored car or something
Didn't RRG's require infrastructure in the 1.0 version of the game?
You're right, they are a bit over-powered early on.
They do lose a bit of steam in the late game, because they don't upgrade.
But with a hefty AA battery in support, they're no fun to deal with.
I like your ideas, but 'Infrastructure 1' should be enough, otherwise we will not see these monsters anymore in games.DecendedDemon wrote:

If we need Infrastructure to move it .... the unit should stay with it's stats, or maybe even get a little bit more damage.
Maybe when it isn't used on infrastructure, it can have reduced efficiency, meaning less damage. It'd make sense, since the infrastructure would be necessary for the unit to function effectively (but can still be used in a pinch).
The name, and common sense, implies they would need infrastructure to function, but that's clearly not the case.
I've never used them. My source of hesitation is that they appear to be resource hogs, take forever to research and build, and are slow. I can see their use, but since you can't upgrade them, how long can they possibly be a factor before they become obsolete?
Again, only useful as Axis (+15% Range is very handy indeed) and as either a siege weapon, coastal defence (especially as countries like Italy), or just to wear down mega-stacks with heavy anti-air from range.6thDragon wrote:

Can't say I use them. I usually don't do much deliberate defending in this game (i.e. long preparation for an attack to come days ahead) and on the offense they just lag far behind all the other troops.
Then again I saw them being used in the PL so they may have a use in tight battles.
What is this PL?
