Proposal: New Building "Hospital"

Main Idea

The Hospital can only be built in urban provinces.

If a damaged division is located in a city where a Hospital has been built, it will gradually restore its HP. The higher the Hospital level, the faster the healing rate.

This would allow players to recover wounded troops directly in cities and provide another strategic reason to hold important cities.

How It Works

  • The Hospital only heals living units that have lost HP.

  • The division must be located directly in the city with the Hospital.

  • Healing happens gradually rather than instantly.

  • The higher the Hospital level, the faster the recovery rate.

  • Healing does not occur while the unit is actively participating in combat.

  • If the division leaves the city, healing stops.

  • If the Hospital itself is damaged, its healing efficiency is reduced.

Hospital Levels

Level I Hospital

  • Construction time: 3 hours

  • Cost: 3,000 Food, 2,000 Metal, 500 Oil

  • Healing rate: +0.5 HP/hour

  • Food consumption: 40 Food/hour per treated division

Level II Hospital

  • Construction time: 5 hours

  • Cost: 4,500 Food, 3,000 Metal, 1,000 Oil

  • Healing rate: +1 HP/hour

  • Food consumption: 50 Food/hour per treated division

Level III Hospital

  • Construction time: 8 hours

  • Cost: 6,500 Food, 4,500 Metal, 1,500 Oil

  • Healing rate: +1.5 HP/hour

  • Food consumption: 60 Food/hour per treated division

Food Consumption

The Hospital consumes food only when damaged divisions are actually being treated.

The amount of food consumed depends on the number of divisions being treated at the same time.

For example, a Level III Hospital consumes 60 food per hour for each division being treated.

  • 1 division → 60 food/h

  • 2 divisions → 120 food/h

  • 3 divisions → 180 food/h

  • 5 divisions → 300 food/h

  • 10 divisions → 600 food/h

Therefore, the more troops being treated in one city, the more food is required to operate the Hospital.

If there are no damaged units being treated in the city, the Hospital does not consume food.

Food Shortage

If the country does not have enough food to fully operate the Hospital, its healing efficiency gradually decreases.

If there is no available food at all, healing stops completely.

This prevents players from continuously restoring large armies without having to maintain sufficient food production.

Example

Suppose a division has 40% HP after a heavy battle.

The player retreats it to a city with a Level III Hospital.

The Hospital begins treating the division:

40% → 41% → 42% → 43% → ... → 100%

At a healing rate of 1.5 HP per hour, restoring the missing 60 HP would take approximately 40 hours.

During this time, the Hospital consumes 60 food per hour for this division.

If 5 divisions are being treated simultaneously:

60 × 5 = 300 food/hour

Strategic Importance

The Hospital would add a new strategic mechanic to the game.

After a major battle, players would have to decide what to do with damaged troops:

Continue the offensive with a damaged army or retreat it to a safe city for recovery.

At the same time, maintaining a large number of wounded troops would require significant food supplies.

Cities with Hospitals would also become important strategic objectives, as capturing such a city could deny the enemy access to a location where damaged troops can be restored.

Overall, the Hospital would be a useful support building, but it would not provide a direct combat advantage and would not allow armies to recover too quickly.
