Until recently you could sort by continent, why has that gone away?

Seems to be a bug that is currently under investigation, It wasn't an intentional change.

Also my tab to retract the provinces pop out disappears when I select multiple providences to construct buildings or build troops. If I open and close spy tab it comes back but not ideal.

Yes that one has already been taskified, and might be fixed on beta games already, so it will be resolved with the next update.
